Pre-Operative Instructions
Conscious sedation is designed to enable you to undergo surgical procedures in a comfortable, relaxed, pain free manner. In order for us to treat you safely, it is necessary to follow some very important guidelines:
You must provide a responsible escort who can bring you to your appointment, stay in our office while you are being treated and take you home after surgery.
Do not have anything to eat or drink for 8 hours prior to your appointment.
Do not drink any alcoholic beverages for 24 hours after your surgery.
Do not drive for 24 hours after surgery.
Defer any responsibility or complicated tasks or any decision making (do not sign any important papers) for 24 hours after surgery.
Wear loose comfortable clothing on the day of surgery.
We also recommend that you have someone at home with you after surgery to attend to you and your needs.
Remove contact lenses before coming in for your surgery. We recommend wearing glasses if you have them.
Do not wear metal jewelry. This includes body piercing.
Remove all nail polish before coming in for your surgery appointment. Please NO acrylic nails.
Do not use moisturizing lotion on hands or arms the day of your appointment
Please turn off ALL electronic devices upon entering our office. (cell phones, pagers , PDA’s)
Our office philosophy is one of comprehensive care. Therefore, your surgical treatment plan and fees will include the surgical procedure as well as all necessary post-operative visits. Post-surgical care will be continued until mutual satisfaction is attained from both the patient and our office. Please make every effort to keep your follow-up appointments.
